By Road
The most common and flexible way to complete the Char Dham Yatra is by road. The journey typically begins from Rishikesh or Haridwar.
Options available:
- Private Cab: Most comfortable option with flexibility to stop at scenic spots
- Shared Taxi: Cost-effective option for small groups
- State Transport Buses: Budget-friendly but may have limited schedules
- Tour Packages: All-inclusive packages with transportation, accommodation, and meals

By Train
While the Char Dham sites themselves don't have railway connectivity, you can reach the starting points of the yatra by train.

- Rishikesh Railway Station: Connected by train from Haridwar

By Air
For those looking to save time on the initial journey, flying to Uttarakhand is the best option.

- Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun): Located approximately 20 km from Rishikesh and 35 km from Haridwar
Flight Connectivity: Regular flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, and other major cities
From the airport: Pre-paid taxis and cab services are available to Rishikesh/Haridwar, which serve as base camps for the Char Dham Yatra
Travel time from airport to Rishikesh: Approximately 30-45 minutes
By Helicopter
For a premium and time-saving experience, helicopter services offer an excellent option to visit all four dhams quickly.
Helicopter Services:
